Washington, D.C., April 3, 2014 – The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) reports that according to official statistics compiled on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), manufactured housing production grew once again during February 2014. Just-released statistics indicate that HUD Code manufacturers produced 4,361 homes in February 2014, a 5% increase over the 4,151 HUD Code homes produced during February 2013. Cumulative industry production for 2014 now totals 8,766 homes, a 4.4% increase over the 8,393 homes produced through February 2013.
A further analysis of the official industry statistics shows that the top ten shipment states from the beginning of the industry production rebound in August 2011 through February 2014 — with cumulative shipment totals as indicated — are:
1. Texas ——————————– 28,678 homes (1,043 in February)
2. Louisiana —————————– 10,771 homes (303 in February)
3. Florida ——————————– 7,249 homes (290 in February)
4. North Carolina ———————— 6,292 homes (151 in February)
5. Alabama —————————— 6,120 homes (166 in February)
6. Kentucky —————————– 5,530 homes (126 in February)
7. Mississippi —————————- 5,493 homes (164 in February)
8. California —————————— 4,693 homes (202 in February)
9. Tennessee —————————– 4,440 homes (103 in February)
10. Oklahoma —————————– 4,423 homes (131 in February)
The latest information for February 2014 results in no changes from the January 2014 top ten list.
