History is taught in Communist China or North Korea, as well as in nations around the world. But history in China or North Korea is shaped by the Communist Party line.
It is natural for parents to tell their children stories about their family’s experiences. Those episodes of familial exploits, the tragic as well as the triumphs, are a form of history. Cave drawings from so-called pre-historic tribes reflect another ‘visual’ form of history.
Somehow the famous but disillusioned socialist writer George Orwell projected into the future a time when workers would busily change history to fit the latest narrative of a fictional central government. The propaganda would flow in Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty Four (1984) to fit the latest narrative, and to propagandize as many people as possible.
Google Orwellian terms and memes and other images inspired by Orwell’s dark novel are found in abundance. Perhaps that is because there is so much newspeak in evidence? That’s not just in the U.S., but similar patterns are occurring in numerous nations around the world. Where media isn’t ‘state run’ there are often in a given nation powerful media organizations that shape the culture, perception, and behavior. Perfect? No. Effective? To a significant degree, yes.
Orwell also wrote Animal Farm, another novel where ‘all are equal, but some are more equal than others.’
Millions of Americans in the 1950s and 1960s were ‘educated’ about the Trail of Tears or other aspects of how Native Americans were often dealt with unjustly. Students learned about slavery and its cousin, indentured servitude.
As time marched on, new narratives were taught to students. These often painted a darker picture of history of the United States.
It is hard for some to imagine a time when much of the world were slaves or serfs. That pattern of masters or overlord’s included the ‘white’ world of Europe, but it also included the indigenous people of the Americas, as well as peoples in Africa, Asia, Oceania and so on. Black’s enslaved blacks. Native Americans enslaved other ingenious people. This story line that millions believe that white colonists from Europe disrupted some perfect Utopian society here in the Americas is spin or nonsense.
As MHProNews has noted via numerous reports, there are lots of ways of depriving people of what is their due. Government can’t give what it first doesn’t take from others. That’s reality.
Government can ‘print money,’ but if there is nothing of value behind a currency, then the money soon loses its perceived value. That’s happened time and again in world history. If currency become solely digital, that doesn’t change the principle just mentioned. It would be tempting to delve into a discussion of gold, silver, and copper coins as ‘currency,’ but perhaps that should be saved for another time.
When 2020 began, who believed that:
- Our economy would move from essentially full employment, to tens of millions being laid off within a few weeks.
- We had millions of Americans from all backgrounds with new confidence in their future in early January 2020, that have since had their hopes and dreams dimed by a virus that public health officials have handled quite differently than the Honk Kong Flu of 1968.
- Naturally, this has been politicized during an election year. It has to be the fault of the Trump administration, right?
- No, not right. Over 120 nations in the world are trying to hold China accountable for this issue. They aren’t blaming President Trump, they say that the Communist Chinese government failed to live up to its commitments to the World Health Organization or WHO.
The problems this pandemic has caused or legion. Among them is the lack of tech support from internet service providers. The ‘new and upgraded service’ that MHProNews paid for that was supposed to start this weekend failed. Thus, or normal report schedule failed too. We can say, we are sorry – and we are. But that isn’t the same as being responsible for the problem, because it is not one of our making.
That’s a metaphor for much of 2020. There are authentically responsible people and then people that want to point fingers of blame at parties that aren’t responsible.
Much of the 2020 Democratic National Convention focused on blaming President Donald Trump for ‘not following the science’ and similar claims. While someone can debate various aspects of the handling of the Wuhan Chinese coronavirus, the ultimate cause was in China, and then there was the failure of the WHO in communicating that to the world in a timely fashion.
That’s why the long ties between the Gates Foundation, the WHO, or for that matter several ties with Microsoft and the China exist. At a minimum, they bear scrutiny. That is especially true since Gates not only stands to profit, but has profited. Anyone who thinks that this contagion has benefited the president is at best ill informed. It has benefited the powers that be that have arguably manipulated the American economic and political system for some years with increasing effect.
Former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle have become quite wealthy in the wake of their exiting the White House. Tens of millions of dollars in contracts and commitments have flowed their way. Is it any surprise that Mr. and Mrs. Obama are sticking up for the powers that both disrespect President Trump and blame him, de facto giving cover to those billionaires and their conglomerates who made the Obamas wealthy? Pardon me if I yawn or laugh at their ridiculous spin.
The same holds for ‘racial justice.’ Pardon me if I yawn, laugh, or cry in thinking about the ways that the Obama and Biden families were lining their own pockets, while feathering the nests of their benefactors, and then want to blame all of the nation’s woes on political newcomer President Trump. If Obama-Biden were so grand, why didn’t they fix Chicago, Baltimore, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Portland, or Seattle while they were in the White House?
There is sound evidence that points to a few enriching themselves at great harm to the many during this pandemic and civil unrest. Look back at 1968. There was civil unrest and the Hong Kong flu killed many then. So why has all of the ‘science’ failed the U.S. when billions were spent pre-pandemic to prevent just such a tragedy?
2020 is a year of surprises, and many of them are troubling and tragic. But there is a possible silver lining. That silver lining is this. Those who have fabricated the fairy tales are at least partially exposed. Will the Trump campaign and Administration make it clear to Americans that the blame isn’t just in China or with the WHO? Will they lay out the evidence for how multinational conglomerates and their billionaire chieftains have sold out their fellow Americans?
Ponder that as you read the headlines from the week that was. With no further adieu, those headlines from 8.16 to 8.23.2020 are as follows.
