Production Growth Continues in April 2014

Washington, D.C., June 3, 2014 – The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) reports that according to official statistics compiled on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), manufactured housing production strengthened again during April 2014. Just-released statistics indicate that HUD Code manufacturers produced 5,653 homes in April 2014, a 6.4% increase over the 5,313 HUD Code homes produced during April 2013. Cumulative industry production for 2014 now totals 19,318 homes, a 6.3% increase over the 18,173 homes produced through April 2013.

A further analysis of the official industry statistics shows that the top ten shipment states from the beginning of the industry production rebound in August 2011 through April 2014 — with cumulative, monthly, current year-to-date (2014) and prior year-to-date (2013) shipment totals per category as indicated — are:
