IndyStar reports existing home sales in Central Indiana rose 13.2 percent in October over the same month last year. The Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors (MIBOR), which covers a 13 county metro area, said the 1,735 homes sold last month mark the fourth straight month sales have grown. Sales of existing homes statewide also grew 10.2 percent over October 2010, to 5,163, according to the Indiana Association of Realtors. Additionally, the median price of homes sold in October in the metro area increased 3.2 percent from a year ago to $123,695. Said Dave Goff, president of MIBOR, “The market is becoming more positive for both buyers and sellers as home prices increase and stabilize and pending sales continue to grow.
