Manufactured home builders have long been known to provide cutting-edge energy efficiency options in the homes they offer the public. Hillcrest in Bullhead City, Arizona recently staked out its position to energy efficiency and green living. The company, in cooperation with Hallmark-Southwest Corporation, a California based manufactured home builder, announced this week it is taking great strides in updating new homes in the community and in making the common areas throughout the park operate near net-zero energy efficiency. A model home in the community is currently operating at net-zero energy consumption through the combination of a highly energy efficient building envelope and a cutting edge solar system using state of the art inverter technology. “Power production is optimized through the new inverter technology and the entire system can be remotely monitored to insure efficiency and proper system functionality,” says Luca Brammer, Director of Business Development for Hallmark-Southwest. In addition to the energy efficient model home, the gas streetlights in the park have recently been converted to solar power.
