Modern Modular University Housing Down Under

While noting modular villas being built in in one day in southern Iraq by Rotondo Weirich of Pennsylvania, as we published here March 6, 2012, FraserCoastChronicle of Australia reports Hutchinson Builders is constructing a modular three-story accommodation (residential) building for Central Queensland University (CQU) in northeast Australia for their Mackay campus. MHProNews.com has learned the 72 self-contained suites will each have a small kitchen and common areas. The company says this is the first multi-story prefabricated building in Australia. Headquartered in Brisbane, Hutchinson began construction in 1912, and now provides a diverse range of facilities for tourism, retail, government, hotels, etc., but its modular division primarily produces housing for the educational and resource development sectors.
