The Eastern Arizona Courier reports that people who wish to set up a manufactured home in Pima, Arizona will not be required by the town to create a concrete footer. The report indicates a recommendation from the Pima Planning and Zoning Commission to require a stem wall/concrete foundation for all future manufactured home installations died at a Dec. 7 meeting. The report says the stem walls are required, whether or not it’s in the town code. The reason for adding it to the code was for older manufactured homes to have the same setup as the new ones. The town council determined the approximately $5,000 added expense was considerable for people purchasing second-hand manufactured homes.
