By far the most populous state in the nation is California. While the ‘Golden State’ is in the top ten in terms of manufactured home shipments, it isn’t anywhere near number 1 Texas. The focus of this report isn’t to look at the why behind that, but MHProNews is merely noting that factoid.
One challenge with a 24/7 news is that there is an ongoing and constant rush of information. It pays at times, therefor, to step back and get a bit more perspective to see what is actually occurring in the economy, the markets, housing in general, or manufactured homes in particular.
This video interview was performed on May. 21, 2019, so it is about 3 months old. But if you listen carefully, it could sound much the same as many reports being done today. Interest rates have dropped. The markets are on a roller coaster in 2019.
But the need for and demand for new housing remains strong.
First American Chief Economist Mark Fleming is on the hot seat in this right-of-center Fox Business during this interview focused on the housing market and the outlook for the U.S. economy. Fleming has said similarly more recently to media on both sides of the left-right divide.
Keep in mind that MHProNews more recently provided a video interview with HUD Secretary Ben Carson where he addressed other aspects of the lack of affordable housing scenario in California. Dr. Carson recalled their Innovative Housing Showcase on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. in early June 2019.

The Facts Are Hiding in Plain Sight…So, Why Aren’t More Manufactured Homes Being Sold?
Keep in mind the nonprofit groups in the report linked below also said that affordable housing is a top issue with millions of Americans.
But as the Zillow research analyzed in the report below revealed, fewer housing shoppers are considering manufactured homes in 2018 than in 2016. What was that claim by MHI that they were promoting the industry? If so, how can they claim that ‘promotion’ has helped anyone, other than consolidators?
The troubling truth that the industry is underperforming is hiding in plain sight.
