Following up on a story we published Sept. 8, 2011, ReinforcedPlastics says Toronto, Canada-based Innovative Composites International, Inc. (ICI) has completed its Orangeburg, South Carolina plant designed to produce five million square feet of modular homes annually. The 880 square-foot EcoScape homes, a modular unit especially designed for affordable housing projects in emergency situations, as well as for permanent housing, are made of reinforced plastic panels and can be assembled in two days. MHProNews.com has learned the $9.3 million project is expected to provide 300 new jobs over a five year period. Shipments are expected to begin in early May.
