MHProNews.com has learned from Reuters MH and RV community operator Sun Communities, Inc. reports net income for Quarter 1 2012 over Q1 2011 increased from $2.4 million to $5.4 million. Funds from Operations (FFO) rose from $18.8 million in the first quarter of 2011 to $25.7 million for the quarter ending March 31, 2012. Sun added 294 revenue producing sites in Q1 2012. Same site occupancy increased from 84.8 percent to 86.1 percent, and home sales rose 12.3 percent quarter-over-quarter. The company owns and operates 136 manufactured housing and recreational vehicle communities in the U.S.
