There is a deep dive report linked below into a new controversy that the “posturing,” “castrated” “court eunuch” Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) is embroiled in.
Those pull-quotes are from the Masthead, which outlines facts about a legal action funded by dark money sources connected to Michael “Mike” Bloomberg, billionaire and former New York City mayor as well as by Warren Buffett.
This is an issue that the Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) has been consistently dealing with for years. Each time the record reflects that MHARR was successful, while MHI had to pivot – abandoning their original posture under pressure. But MHI’s Omaha-based sugar daddy has funded an effort through dark money channels that aims to accomplish through the legal system what they failed to achieve through the regulatory approach.
Note, this was the report we teased earlier this month that MHI was not telling its members about. The Masthead report will unpack the evidence.
The report above will be one more reason why we used the headline that we did in the report linked below. It is an outrage that MHI is unwilling or unable to publicly defend their record in a public debate in front of a moderated discussion with a manufactured housing industry audience. They and their big-boy masters could do so at Tunica, will they?
There is a body of evidence that the industry’s independents and homeowners are being undermined from within. It helps explain what former MHI president Chris Stinebert meant.

There is more than enough evidence that there is corruption, deceptive trade practices and other arguably illegal activities that are benefiting a few to the harm of the many. See the related articles below.
The bad news is that the opposition to ethical ‘white hat’ businesses, investors and other professionals have deep pockets and they are politically connected. But the good news is that Bernie Madoff could have once made that similar claim. Today, Madoff sits in a federal cell. It took persistence on the part of a few professionals with federal officials to finally topple Madoff’s multi-billion dollar empire.
