Author, media personality, and former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino’s “Follow the Money” advice is used in investigative research in legal, business and other venues. Note that all industries and professionals are a subset of the greater economy. In America, the political environment influences business, and the reverse of that is that business influences politics and regulations are also true. Culture and beliefs likewise influence behaviors. Those prior 3 sentences roughly sum up why MHProNews keeps on eye on issues that are larger or go beyond affordable manufactured housing. Bongino’s new “Follow the Money” book and his recent radio interview on SiriusXM arguably shed light on several issues that our industry’s professionals have been tracking for years, if they are careful readers of this industry-leading professional trade news site.
Right-of-center Breitbart News said that Bongino is making a case that “Conservative Media Must Stick Together Because Left Is Coming for All of Us.” Note to new readers, MHProNews routinely sources across the left-right media divide. In this report, what Breitbart reported regarding the radio interview with Bongino will be followed by the publisher’s summary of his new book. That in turn will lead to additional information, MHProNews analysis and commentary.
Conservative media must unify against growing threats of intimidation and censorship from the left, urged Dan Bongino, conservative commentator, former Secret Service agent, and author of Follow the Money: The Shocking Deep State Connections of the Anti-Trump Cabal, offering his comments on Friday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow.
“We need to stick together,” said Bongino of conservative media. He added, “Breitbart and Daily Caller and the Blaze and all of us, we should all be using our social media, our video platforms, and our shows [to cross-promote].”
Bongino went on, “We have to stick together, because everyone else is looking to take us down.” He drew on Benjamin Franklin’s comment at the time of the signing of the Declaration of Independence: “We must all hang together, or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.”
“We’re all going to hang together, eventually, if we don’t stick together,” Bongino warned. “They are going to come after us all. They really hate us, these people. We have got to stick together.”
Bongino said, “The power of the mainstream media is almost unparalleled. There’s been great growth [in competition], Breitbart, the Blaze, other entities, my website, [and] podcasting, but they still overwhelm us. They have four or five times on the nightly news the audience we do even on outlets like Fox and elsewhere.”
Dissident news media have “broken the monopoly” previously held over the industry by left-wing partisan Democrats in the era of Walter Cronkite, Tom Brokaw, and Peter Jennings, observed Bongino. He highlighted SiriusXM’s Breitbart News radio shows as an example of contemporary platforms challenging false orthodoxies pushed by most media.
“We’re building actual infrastructures outside of this monopoly they had over the nightly news,” Bongino stated. “We’re still not there, yet, but we’re getting there.”
Bongino noted his partnership with Parler and his ownership stake in Rumble, social media platforms competing primarily with Twitter and YouTube, respectively.
Bongino remarked, “Even though I’m a part owner of Parler and Rumble, I’m not asking anyone to cancel your Twitter or cancel your Facebook. There are real fights to be had out there that should be had. What I’m asking you to do is make Parler and Rumble your social media home, where you cross-post to these other platforms. We will never ban you, unless you do something illegal.”
“We’ve got to start building our own conservative economy,” added Bongino. He concluded, “We’ve got to take the Roger Ailes approach at Fox. When someone asked him — I heard this question live; he was at a Secret Service ceremony — ‘What made you start Fox News?’ He said, ‘I wanted to serve an underserved market in America. It’s called 51 percent of Americans.’”
Breitbart News Daily broadcasts live on SiriusXM Patriot 125 weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Eastern.

The Breitbart article linked to the following pre-release information on Jeff Bezos’ Amazon about Bongino’s new book. As noted, this will be followed by additional information, MHProNews analysis and commentary.
Follow the Money: The Shocking Deep State Connections of the Anti-Trump Cabal Hardcover – October 6, 2020
Follow the Money exposes the labyrinth of connections between D.C.’s slimiest swamp creatures—Democrat operatives, lying informants, desperate and destructive FBI agents, Obama power brokers, CIA renegade John Brennan, George Soros, and more—who conspired to attack Trump by manufacturing one bogus scandal after another.
Bestselling author, podcast favorite, and Fox News contributor Dan Bongino delivers the third and most shocking of his acclaimed series chronicling the Deep State war against Donald Trump. Starting with the Trump impeachment hearings, Bongino works forward and backward to piece together the connections of a vast, well-funded cabal of wealthy Democrats and D.C. swamp elite to the non-stop deluge of manufactured scandals launched specifically to attack, destabilize, and ultimately remove Trump and his administration.
Zooming in on Ukraine, Bongino unspools a complex sequence of corruption—from the miraculous “discovery” of a mysterious black ledger that linked financial transactions to Trump campaign insider Paul Manafort and cast a shadow over the entire Trump team, to Joe Biden’s unexamined quid pro quo interference with Kyiv politics as he threatened to withhold a loan unless a prosecutor was removed from office. The former Secret Service agent exposes how Glenn Simpson, the corrupt cheerleader behind the lie-filled Steele dossier, wrangled millions from top Democrat donor George Soros to meddle in Ukraine politics. Bongino also reveals Soros’s desperate multimillion-dollar plan to stop Trump’s re-election.
Using FBI documents, Bongino reveals the outrageous actions of Robert Mueller’s investigators, who sat on evidence that proved the supposedly damning Trump Tower meeting between a Russian lawyer and senior campaign officials was nothing more than a twenty-minute waste of time for all involved. Other chapters delve into the disturbing presence of Obama’s fixer, obstruction angel Kathryn “Kathy” Ruemmler, who represents a rogues gallery of Russiagate political operatives; the FBI’s inside source on the National Security Council, Anthony Ferrante, who dedicated himself to the fruitless task of trying to prove the Steele dossier was legitimate; and “Special Agent 1” Stephen M. Somma’s curious obsession with Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, which was stoked by a Flynn-fixated paid operative named Stefan Halper.
Flynn is the centerpiece of one of the book’s most revealing chapters, in which Bongino deconstructs the FBI’s elaborate takedown of Trump’s National Security Advisor, revealing how and why the three-star general was set up not once…but three times. Bongino also returns to the last, desperate attempt to derail Trump—the impeachment trial—and uncovers Adam Schiff’s lies and the Ukraine-call whistleblower’s multiple secret ties to never-Trumpers and Schiff himself. In the final chapter, Bongino unveils the newest front to stop Trump: the unleashing of COVID-19 from China and how the disease mutated from a killer plague in Wuhan to a weapon to destroy America’s economy and, with it, Trump’s re-election chances.
Follow the Money displays dizzying detective work from a truly relentless, passionate, and patriotic reporter. An astonishing chronicle of the relentless war to destroy Donald Trump and his administration, this exposé is a must-read for anyone who wants to unravel the most shocking and corrupt campaign to unseat a sitting president in American history.”

Rephrased and summarized, there are increasingly voices across the left-right spectrum that recognize that media, money, and politics – largely from the political left – have been corrupted. Another report by a different author on a related topic is linked below.
Additional Information, MHProNews Analysis and Commentary
Perhaps the best propaganda is when those who are being propagandized don’t realize that they are being fed a steady diet of paltering. What the Capital Research Center calls “Misdirection and Deception” is part of what is occurring. What American Enterprise Institute Housing Center Director Edward Pinto refers to as “crony capitalism” and “crony advocacy” arguably fit well into what Bongino’s outline above asserts.
As MHProNews has related for some years, one must bear in mind that there are media and voices on the left that may accurately describe some specific issue. But there are then times that a given writer or media outlet attempt to spin legitimate insights into meaning something that when the facts are properly analyzed is logically a fallacy or inaccurate.
For instance, with respect to our industry, claims by groups like the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS) and Inequality that the “Oligarchic Dozen” are profiting wildly from the consequences of the COVID19 pandemic can be accurate, but their policy proscriptions may be flawed. Indeed, when Pinto’s notion of “crony advocacy” is stretched, examined and applied to some of these nonprofits and the media that picks it up and reports on them, the result of ‘following the money trail’ often leads back to some of those same oligarchs, such as Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, and George Soros.
One can be sure that the ‘solutions’ of ‘tax the rich’ that leftist groups or personalities may espouse somehow manage to translate into taxing the middle class and creating a “moat” around the “castles” of the economic moguls who in turn hold serious sway over national politics.
Applying the notion from Bongino that conservatives and their information sites must hold together, the following from Legal Insurrection is relevant.
Danielle Pletka, from the American Enterprise Institute is supposedly a “never-Trumper” who thinks that the ‘Orange Man is Bad, but has come to the conclusion that the Trojan Horse Man Worse.’
Legal Insurrection author William A. Jacobson on 9.16.2020 wrote that AEI’s Danielle Pletka had an “Awokening” that is leading her to vote for President Trump, because despite certain stylistic or other misgivings, Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden “would merely be the facade for … an agenda that would seriously damage the nation.”
Pletka, writing in the left-of-center and Jeff Bezos owned Washington Post, quoted her saying:
“In 2016, I never considered voting for Donald Trump. The Johnny-come-lately Republican and his nasty schoolyard jibes seemed to me the worst degradation of American politics. But in 2020, I may be forced to vote for the man.
Hear me out.”
Jacobson noted that hearing her out began with Trump-bashing.
“I don’t need a bumper sticker or a lawn sign to convey my distaste for Trump — his odious tweets, his chronic mendacity and general crudeness.”
Then comes her ‘but.’
“With Donald Trump, I know what I am getting. He wears his sins on the outside. For good and ill, he runs his administration. I worry more about his incompetence and vacillation than I do about any dictatorial tendencies.” Let’s note that what AEI’s Pletka calls ‘incompetence and vacillation’ are arguably part of the POTUS Trump ‘Art of the Deal’ style. But she is right that he, as are us all, is a sinner and to a far greater degree that a wanna-be President Biden, you know what you are getting.
Jacboson references Biden as a “Trojan Horse” for the left, and returns to his quotes from But I fear the leftward lurch of the Democratic Party even more.
“What is there to be afraid of? I fear that former vice president Joe Biden would be a figurehead president, incapable of focus or leadership, who would run a teleprompter presidency with the words drafted by his party’s hard-left ideologues. I fear that a Congress with Democrats controlling both houses — almost certainly ensured by a Biden victory in November — would begin an assault on the institutions of government that preserve the nation’s small “d” democracy….
I fear the grip of Manhattan-San Francisco progressive mores that increasingly permeate my daily newspapers, my children’s curriculums and my local government. I fear the virtue-signaling bullies who increasingly try to dominate or silence public discourse — and encourage my children to think that their being White is intrinsically evil, that America’s founding is akin to original sin. I fear the growing self-censorship that guides many people’s every utterance, and the leftist vigilantes who view every personal choice — from recipes to hairdos — through their twisted prisms of politics and culture. An entirely Democratic-run Washington, urged on by progressives’ media allies, would no doubt only accelerate these trends….
… I am increasingly persuaded that what I see in Joe Biden — whom I first met in 1992, and whom I believe to be a decent person — would merely be the facade for an administration, fully backed by both houses of Congress, with an agenda that would seriously damage the nation. The corrosive left-wing extremism of 2020 would be ascendant, while a smiling President Biden assures the country that everything is fine. Trump, for all his flaws, could be all that stands between our imperfect democracy and the tyranny of the woke left.”
One might nuance some of Jacobson’s observation that “NeverTrumper conservatives and Republicans never were great in number.” For instance, recently hundreds of former Team Bush and McCain officials came out in support of President Obama-era Vice President Joe Biden over President Trump. That move by what Fox Business host Lou Dobbs calls “RINO Republicans” reveals that it is the money-powers behind those politicos that in several ways animated their various behaviors. It was the difference between ‘managing the decline’ of America against countries like rising Communist China, vs. holding to policies based on sound moral or legal principles.
MHProNews has periodically referenced the famous quote from the late British best-selling author and thinker, G.K. Chesterton.
At every stage, people of good will, of whatever background, must ask – what is right? What is wrong? That happens to fit the famous coach Lou Holtz mantra cited below rather well too.
Each of the extensive quotes from various largely conservative sources above paints a picture. It isn’t just our industry that is being undermined from within. Other professions are too.
Other professions are suffering the effects of barriers of entry, persistence, and exit. Artificially low sales volumes, regulatory, perception, finance and other issues are all among the barriers that limit competion and thus thwart the normal functioning of the free market.
Barriers to Entry, Persistence, and Exiting in Business, Affordable Housing, and Manufactured Homes
In a recent call with a nonprofit leader outside of our industry, MHProNews observed that Carol Roth’s principle of heavy regulations benefiting big business was quickly agreed to as a sound principle. That source pointed to Dodd-Frank era regulations as an example. Quite so, as our thoughtful and longer-term industry’s professionals know.
The ‘political left’ in media, academia, nonprofits, activist groups such as Black Lives Matter and Antifa can trace the money trail back to people like Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, and George Soros. See that research in the report linked below.
These are individuals who may posture a moral compass, but when closely examined, will do or say whatever they think will benefit their cause. Note that these aren’t mere claims or hyperbole, they are evidenced by the ones who are engaged in the behavior, often in their own words. See the reports linked below.
“Revolutionaries” Warren Buffett Partner Charlie Munger Explains a Church They Created
Black Lives Matter – the organization – is by their own co-founder’s admission, a Marxist group.
But that ‘Marxism’ and the violence of groups such as Antifa must be understood as the historical parallel to the National Socialist’s brownshirts, or the Democratic Party’s long-standing historic ties to the Ku Klux Klan.
A leaked Democratic National Committee memo made it seem like they looked askance as BLM, the movement. See the linked reports to fully grasp the meaning and details behind each of these evidenced-based statements.
Leaked Secret Democratic Memo On Black Lives Matter Emerges; “Haven’t Seen Sh-t Like This Before”
Keep in mind that the Biden campaign has been endorsed by literal communists.
Author and documentary filmmaker Trevor Loudon has documented the numerous connections between literally dozens of Democrats, socialists, Marxists, and others bent on overthrowing the American political system.
What thinkers like Bongino or author, radio, and TV personality Larry Elder have said and are doing is spotlighting the awakening of many in America to having been manipulated for years.
When someone is willing to admit that they might have been fooled – indeed, we all have been at various times in our lives – about President Trump or any other topic, and focus on evidence over conditioned emotional reactions, a different picture begins to take shape.
President Trump at his Bemidji, Minnesota rally on 9.18.2020 described himself as “the wall” of the people against the forces being aligned against them. He also said during that rally that while technology changes routinely, making this or that tech item obsolete shortly after it is produced, “wheels and walls” have stood the test of time.
The announcement last night of the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on 9.18.2020 will be used to energize the respective bases of the political left and the Republicans, independents and more moderate Democrats who support President Trump.
While our focus is on affordable manufactured housing, a common question asked by curious researchers is – why is our industry underperforming? That question may be phrased in a variety of ways. But it routinely comes down to this issue. With such an amazing value, how is it that our industry is misunderstood during an affordable housing crisis?
There are powerful people and their corporate interests who have – for their own motivations – undermined the manufactured housing industry from within and without.
There are the elements for a broad coalition of ‘everyday’ Americans of all backgrounds and ages, who along with white hat independents and investors have it in their own best interest to study the issues to see who is pulling the strings behind the puppet’s like Biden, or Senator Kamala Harris (CA-D) for that matter, who dropped out of the race for the top spot in her party before the primaries began. Decades ago, smoked filled rooms selected party nominees. Now, the moneyed interests have to jump more hoops to ‘persuade’ through ads and seemingly endless propaganda what they want.
Who says? Think about what these Democratic leaders candidly said.
More affordable home ownership would benefit millions of Americans. Ours is a great industry that has been undermined from within. Our industry is not alone.
It’s been a tragic yet truly historic year. The election is just 6 weeks out.
