MHProNews has learned from the IndyStar permits for new home construction in the nine county Indianapolis metropolitan area for the first six months of 2012 increased eight percent over the same period 2011, but fell one percent from June 2011, 428 issued down from 434. Compared to June of last year, permits for Marion County dropped 15 percent, but increased two percent in Hendricks County. Wealthy Hamilton County, just north of Indianapolis, witnessed an eight percent decline. The Census Bureau reports June housing permits fell on a seasonally annual adjusted rate in May of 784,000 to 755,000 in June, a drop of 3.7 percent on a national basis.
