The WataugaDemocrat says residents of Clawson Mobile Home Park in Boone, North Carolina were notified April 3 they have six months to move because the owners are selling the property to developers who intend to build a multi-building student apartment complex on the 20 acres. The community owners and developer appeared before the Boone Town Council and Planning Commission to ask for rezoning of the property that now contains 37 manufactured homes. The MHC owners, who cited ill health as the reason for closing the community, have asked that funds be set aside from the sale of the property to give each home owner $4,000 in relocation expense, MHProNews has learned.
