WSBTV reports residents of Tara Mobile Home Park in Jonesboro, GA just south of Atlanta have endured the abandonment of neighboring Maria Mobile Homes community and the subsequent collection of dumped furnishings and trash, as well as squatters living in the decrepit homes. The water was turned off last year because of unpaid water bills, forcing the residents to leave. After a year of complaints, Clayton County officials have begun to take notice and promised to clean up the site. County Commissioner Eldrin Bell, noting the property has been in abatement process since April 2011, said, “I want to apologize to those people out there for having to put up with it this long. And I want to reassure them I will get something done about it.” Bell has contacted the corrections department to get workers to help clean up the mess. MHProNews was unable to immediately determine ownership of Maria.
