Following up on a story we posted Nov. 22, 2012 about Sun Communities, Inc.’s acquisition of four MHCs from Rudgate in southeastern Michigan for $71.1 million, and its assumption of managerial responsibility for two additional communities, MHProNews has learned Rudgate shows ownership of six MHCs on its website. It could not be immediately confirmed if these are the same ones for which Sun is now responsible. However, Sun is headquartered in Southfield, Mich., very close to the properties shown on Rudgate’s website. Meanwhile, Zacks reports in the recent Q3 Sun acquired Blazing Star, an RV community with 260 homesites in San Antonio, Texas for $7.1 million. The company intends to build over 1,500 homesites by the end of 2013, mostly in Colorado and Texas.
