From Arizona the San Pedro Valley News-Sun reports there’s less red tape involved with installing manufactured homes in the community of Benson. The report says the city council there approved an Inter-Governmental Agreement between the city and the Arizona Department of Fire, Building and Life Safety, Office of Manufactured Housing (OMH) that will allow city building officials to perform the required inspections. Until now, local community owners have had to go through both a state and city process. The cost has also been reduced to a flat $200 paid to the city. Previously the state charged $300 in addition to city fees.
