Manufactured housing production is up again, per the latest report from the Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) report that follows. HUD CODE PRODUCTION UP IN SEPTEMBER 2024
Washington, D.C., November 4, 2024 – The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) reports that according to official statistics compiled on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), HUD Code manufactured housing industry year-over-year production increased once again in September 2024. Just-released statistics indicate that HUD Code manufacturers produced 8,814 new homes in September 2024, a 10.7% increase over the 7,955 new HUD Code homes produced in September 2023. Cumulative production for 2024 now totals 77,376 homes, a 16% increase over the 66,647 HUD Code homes produced over the same period in 2023.
A further analysis of the official industry statistics shows that the top ten shipment states from January 2023 — with monthly, cumulative, current reporting year (2024) and prior year (2023) shipments per category as indicated — are:

There are more votes to count, something that hopefully Trump 2.0 and MAGA Republicans can fix. Dozens of nations vote and get tallies in a day. Many states, often run by Republicans, do the same. Why can’t purple or blue states accomplish a legitimate outcome in a matter of hours too? A transition will be taking place over the course of roughly 2.5 months. MHProNews will periodically dip in on those and other related efforts. HUD will need to be staffed, as will DOE, FHFA, and other agencies that will intersect with the manufactured housing industry. What we know is that the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) appeared to be quite cozy with Biden-Harris and Democrats.
There was a lot of talk before the election about the biggest illegal alien removal in U.S. history. If so, that could take pressure off of the immediate housing crisis. Time will tell.
Some will recall that MHI tried to ‘run out the clock’ on Trump 1.0. Industry pros should be aware of that and prepare accordingly.
