The democratherald tells MHProNews the manufactured homes used to display the energy efficiency of a BASF HVAC system at the International Builders Show in Las Vegas were made by Palm Harbor Homes at their Millersburg, Ore. facility. The “BEYOND High Performance” homes are built to achieve a Home Energy Rating System (HERS) index of 50, and a reduction of water usage by 20 percent. BASF chose to showcase products and construction techniques available to promote energy efficiency. One of the 945 square foot homes was only partially built so viewers could see the building methods; the other one was finished. The two PHH homes are currently on tour across the country. Perhaps they are coming to a Home Show near you.
