The portlandtribune reports a huge tree that uprooted and fell down an embankment into the Sieben Creek behind the Shadowbrook Mobile Home Park Dec. 12, 2012 in Clackamas, Ore. has apparently ceased to cause problems. The residents’ major water line damaged by the tree was repaired Dec. 28, but the backyard of the home that had been sited there, belonging to a 98 year-old woman who has since been moved by her family, residents say continues to be dangerous. Some neighbors think a leaking water pipe in the elderly woman’s home may have caused the problem. A vice president of a manufactured homeowners association contends the embankment the tree fell down continues to pose a hazard; however, a state lawmaker who was contacted by some of the residents right after the incident says he understands the problem was being addressed by the Clackamas County Water Environmental Services and has not heard of any further problem. Shadowbrook property manager Jeff Wehrung says the tree has been removed and the utilities re-located to the front of the site, and that there is no longer any imminent danger.
