U. S. stocks slid as markets were down around the world, led by the Nikkei in Japan. The Dow had fallen steeply at the beginning of the trading session but recovered to finish with a minor loss. CNNMoney reports the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell -0.08 percent, -12.67 points, to close at 15,294.50. The Nasdaq lost -0.11 percent, -3.88 points, to finish at 3,459.42, while the S&P slipped -0.29 percent, -4.84 points, to end the day at 1650.51. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite gained +0.49 percent to close at 1050.6. Housing stocks we track closed mixed or even, with Cavco Industries, Inc. gaining the most of tracked stocks, +4.61 percent, +2.16, to close at 49.00. Deer Valley dropped the most of stocks we follow, falling -8.45 percent, -0.06, to end the session at 0.65, although Patrick Industries and Sun Communities both fell over four percent.
