Former beauty queen and one time manufactured home dealer JoLeigh Ares, doing business as Park Girl Sales LLC in the Rio Grande Valley area of Tex., has racked up an alleged 89 claims against her now bankrupt business totaling $2.9 million. The brownsvilleherald reports $1.5 million of the total is from victims who allege they never received their home or the title, or the home was damaged, or it had previous undisclosed debt. Ares filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Dec. 2011, which puts all other legal actions on hold. Meanwhile, the bankruptcy trustee for the U. S. Southern District of Texas has filed suit to obtain Park Girl Sales LLC’s financial records after repeated requests for the documents have reportedly gone ignored. Ares’ ex-husband, Jonathon Ares of Meridian, Idaho, says the records were shipped to him before the bankruptcy filing. Despite a civil lawsuit against her, an indictment charging her with theft between $100,000 and $200,000, and a charge of securing the execution of documents by deception, the former Miss Winter Wonderland opened ABC Finance in Meridian in Feb., 2012.. In addition, records from Nov. 2011 in the Idaho Secretary of State’s office indicate she is principal of the Rose Garden Mobile Home Park in Meridian. Judge Oscar X. Garcia of the 357th District Court in San Benito recently issued a temporary restraining order against Ares and her company for attempting to evict a couple from a manufactured home, pending a hearing in July. As MHProNews reported Feb. 28, 2013, Texas State Senate Bill 499 to streamline the process whereby manufactured home buyers who have unpaid legal judgments against retailers receive reimbursement from the state received impetus from the Park Girl. Ares is free on a $20,000 surety bond.
