The Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) reports that on February 3, House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) released a budget allocation for the remainder of fiscal year 2011— federal programs are currently operating a stopgap continuing funding resolution that expires March 4—that would cap spending at $1.05 trillion and trim roughly $32 billion for federal spending levels this year. The allocation proposed by the House Budget Committee chairman is $58 billion under the levels proposed in the administration’s FY2011 budget request. The allocation provides the resources necessary for the House Appropriations Committee to complete work on a spending bill to fund government programs for the remainder of FY2011. Senate budget and appropriations leaders have yet to release their spending plan for the remainder of the current fiscal year, but are expected to oppose the House plan.
