Solid economic reports and strong bank earnings spurred the S&P to a new record high in today’s trading as the Dow advanced over 100 points. CNNMoney reports the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained +108.08 points, +0.66 percent, to close at 16,481.94. The Nasdaq moved up +0.76 percent, +31.86 points, to finish at 4,214.88, while the S&P advanced +9.5 points, +0.52 percent, to end the day at 1,848.38. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite lost -2.03 percent to close at 796.2. Many usually active housing stocks we track in today’s trading remained unchanged, although Affiliated Managers Group advanced the most, +2.37 points, +1.12 percent to close at 213.78. Louisiana Pacific Industries slid the most, falling -1.90 percent, -0.35, to end the day at 18.09. Cavco Industries, Inc. remained unchanged at 75.60. Clayton Homes, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, as well as MH home-building, lending and other housing suppliers parent company Berkshire Hathaway 173,665 +1,415.00 (+0.82%). Deer Valley remained unchanged at 0.75. Drew Industries remained unchanged at 50.96. Equity LifeStyle Properties 36.80 -0.02 (-0.05%). Liberty Homes remained unchanged at 0.75. Nobility Homes remained unchanged at 9.65. Patrick Industries, Inc. 29.00 -0.12 (-0.43%). Skyline Corp. 5.40 -0.09 (-1.64%). Sun Communities, Inc. remained unchanged at 42.72. Third Avenue Value Fund (Jan. 14) 56.84 +0.35 (+0.62%). UMH Properties, Inc. remained unchanged at 9.31. Universal Forest Products, Inc. remained unchanged at 52.43.
