The Madison County Board in Illinois has altered an ordinance that will reduce the amount manufactured home owners have to pay on their own land. Previously they had to pay $300 for a special use permit, which paid for Madison County Board representatives to inspect each home every five years for high weeds, unlicensed vehicles, proper tie-downs and overall general maintenance. But since 98 percent of the homes all passed compliance checks, the county is now sending out one code enforcement inspector every five years, and homeowners will only pay a $50 administration extension fee, as thetelegraph.com tells MHProNews.com.
