The commissioners of Quincy, Florida, discussed the foundations and locations for modular homes in the city at a workshop March 4, trying to insure they have the appearance of a site-built home. Building inspector Clyde Collins said they need to have either a monolithic foundation or a solid foundation with a footer and stem walls. According to what havanaherald.net tells MHProNews.com, a solid block foundation with brick would cost less than the monolithic support, although under the city guidelines both types are required to include a carport. Modular homes are not allowed in the historic district, but they are in other parts of this city in Florida’s panhandle near Tallahassee. ##
