From Michigan, the Daily Press and Argus reports that a federal lawsuit has been dismissed in which more than 50 residents claimed Green Oak Township unlawfully restricts and removes older mobile homes in a manufactured home community there. According to the report, last March, residents of Woodland Ridge manufactured home community filed suit in U.S. District Court, claiming the restrictions violate their rights under both the state and federal constitution. The case revolved around an April 2000 consent judgment between the township and the developer, Brookside Communities. The consent judgment included a stipulation that prohibits moving in homes that are more than two years old.
