Two brothers in Calgary, Alberta, Canada are turning heads with their approach to modular housing. After developing their single and multi-family homes, Kris and Kurt Goodjohn of Karoleena Homes turned their pursuits to cabins, and have recently come up with a 650-square foot eco-friendly recreational model, Karo Cabin. According to the Calgary Herald, the base model comes with a fireplace, cedar deck and siding, tankless water heater, and movable interior walls. Other upgrades are available, and it is designed to be expanded out and up by adding another module. The brothers say it’s ideal for remote areas where expenses can be high for a stick-built home. Now in its 30th year, the show, which boasts 650 exhibitors, will be at the Calgary Stampede Park Feb 24-27.
