Following a story MHProNews posted July 24, 2014, North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory signed legislation which exempts temporary health care structures from zoning ordinances, thereby allowing stand-alone modular structures with healthcare amenities to be sited on properties with single-family homes. “This bipartisan legislation will provide an alternative for families to care for loved ones on their own property, instead of placing them in hospitals or other state facilities,” said Governor McCrory. “I’m proud to sign this bill that will make it easier for people with disabilities to live or reside with their families while receiving the care they need.” ##
