A custom prefabricated three-story house left Guerdon Enterprises factory in Boise, Idaho, 60 percent complete, and was finished on site in Seattle 45 days later. Jetsongreen.com reports the 1,790-square-foot six-module home designed by Greenfab includes mother-in-law quarters, a rooftop deck garden, and an urban chicken coop. As the company name implies, it is outfitted with a 1,400 gallon water cachement for flushing and irrigation, as well as a system to filter shower and sink water for gardening. The all-electric home has a heat pump for the furnace and water, a high efficiency heating and cooling system, and energy efficient appliances. Greenfab owner Johnny Hartsfield says he can deliver homes 90 percent complete. The home is up for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum and Built Green 5-Star certification.
