In a legal ruling similar to one MHProNews reported June 29, 2015, regarding the siting of manufactured homes (MH) within a jurisdiction based upon age, Lake County, California is proposing to exclude homes older than ten years, but with exceptions.
If the home has been owned by the applicant for at least two years, currently lives in a community within the county and is moving to a site that was purchased by Aug. 1, an exception can be made. The Community Development Department, according to record-bee, will rule on exceptions. The home must have been built after July 1, 1976, and must meet current fire codes.
In addition, the house must meet all local housing standards. These proposals were approved by the Lake County Planning Commission and will now go to the Lake County Board of Supervisors for final approval. ##
