MHProNews has learned Interfaith Housing Services in Hutchinson, Kansas has received two parcels of land from the Hutchinson Land Bank to construct two modular homes. The non-profit only had to pay closing costs, according to hutchnews.
Interfaith’s director of operations, Ron Fisher, said the three-bedroom, two-bath homes will each have 1,100 square feet on the main level. One will have a basement, the other will just have a crawl space.
Funded by a grant, the modular units will be income-qualified rentals, and should be ready for occupancy by Thanksgiving. Fisher said in addition to adding more affordable housing to the city’s housing stock, another benefit is learning the actual cost of modular homes in Hutchinson’s revitalized area. He hopes to add more affordable housing next year. ##
