Updating a post MHProNews published July 6, 2015 regarding the 1.1 percent rise in production of HUD Code homes in May over May 2014, the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) has revised the increase to 1.6 percent, 5,828 homes over the 5,798 first reported. Additionally, production of single-section homes fell 2.5 percent, year-over-year, while multi-section home production rose 5.0 percent.
9,162 total floors were shipped in May, 2015, a 2.7 increase over the comparable month last year. The seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) hit 63,247 in May, a 10.0 percent drop from the 70,450 recorded in April, 2015. Industry production for the year is 8.8 percent over last year.
There were 121 plants reporting production in May, one fewer than the previous month. The number of active corporations dropped from 38 to 36. ##
