As wlns-tv reports, Lansing’s head housing inspector, Scott Sanford said code compliance of manufactured homes was left to the mobile home commission’s office in 2007, but now it is back in the city’s hands. “Now it’s back, handed to me and the code enforcement office,” he smiled.
He says now the goal is to inspect all the manufactured homes in the city to make certain they are safe, the same as any single family home. Officials realize the process will be long, but they are committed to preventing additional sudden evacuations like what happened at the Life O’Riley. ##
