MHProNews has learned from wave3 that Kentucky-based SSK Communities has acquired two manufactured home communities (MHCs) in Evansville, IN comprising 1,100 home sites, both of which will have new names.
Eastbrook Manufactured Housing Park will become Waterford Pointe, and Westbrook Manufactured Home Park will be renamed Grandin Pointe. SSK partner Nathan Smith, former Chairman of the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI), stated, “We are proud to be part of the Evansville community and look forward to meeting all of our new residents in the two communities. In 2016 we will be upgrading these communities including newly renovated clubhouses, playgrounds for children and on-site community managers.”
With these acquisitions SSK now owns and operates 31 MHCs in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio.
Meanwhile, as MHProNews reported June 30, 2015, SSK acquired the 353 home site Lamp Lite Estates MHC in Owensboro, KY, and renamed it Riverbend Pointe. Residents now say they have already seen improvements to the neighborhood since the new owner took over six months ago.
Gene and April Cole have lived in Riverbend for three years, and are pleased with the upgrades. Gene said they have removed abandoned homes that were there when they moved in, built a playground, and filled pot holes in the community. ##
