In noting the 13 percent drop in manufactured housing in the first quarter of this year over 2010, and the continued decline in the industry before the broader housing crisis settled in, the Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) will issue a series of briefs and fact sheets about the positive aspects of modern manufactured homes, according to newly-elected MHARR Chairman, John Bostick. The first of these briefs will provide a brief history of federal regulation of manufactured housing, and will specifically address the lack of a non-career administrator to head the manufactured housing program at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Future briefs will address other urgently-needed reforms.
