The Statesman Journal reports from Salem, Oregon, that Palm Harbor Homes is supplying the Oregon State Fairgrounds with 25 small modular homes to comprise the Oregon Youth Village, replacing a series of dormitories that were structurally unsound. State law requires the State Fair to house 4H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) participants during the event. Each unit has a kitchen area, two bunk beds, and a full bath, and costs approximately $40,000. Funding for the first unit was through grants and donations. The Oregon State Fair Foundation intends to rent out the village to other groups throughout the year to generate income.
