Paul LaMonica of CNNMoney says the Russell Index of small cap stocks is down four percent in Sept., wiping out the gains for the year, driving investors to put their money in blue chips like Merck, Johnson & Johnson, Apple, Wells Fargo, Microsoft and Disney, which are beating the broader market. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average erased yesterday’s 100 plus point loss and then some, gaining 154.19 points, +0.90 percent, to close at 17,210.06, while the Nasdaq advanced +46.53 points, +1.03 percent, to end the day at 4,555.22. The S&P 500 moved up +15.53 points, +0.78 percent, to finish at 1,998.30. The Manufactured Housing Composite gained 1.44 percent to 580.1, and stocks we track closed mixed or even, as CNNMoney reports to MHProNews. Affiliated Managers Group advanced more than other stocks we cover, +0.74 percent, +1.51 points, to close at $204.48. Patrick Industries, Inc.
