The agenda for the Buncombe County Board of Commissioner’s (North Carolina) retreat scheduled for Tue., Jan 19 includes planning this year’s goals and reviewing progress made on goals from last year reports mountainx.
Held in the county building in Asheville, increasing affordable housing was on the agenda last year and will be on this year’s docket. Topics under consideration include housing bonds, incentive grants, public-private partnerships, zoning density changes and land donation to add to affordable housing stock in the county.
One of the goals from last year, as reported by MHProNews March 18, 2015, was to allow HUD Code manufactured homes in all residential districts of the county. The commissioners will continue to work on this issue as well as increasing density for affordable and workforce housing. ##
