From the Calgary Herald comes news that an Arizona manufactured home community is trying to lure Canadians with sunshine and sweet deals. The article notes for the past few weeks, the Canadian dollar has been at, just below or just above its American counterpart. The last time that happened, snowbirds gobbled up U.S. Sun Belt properties. Dolce Vita, a 55-plus community of manufactured homes in Apache Junction, Arizona, is making Canadians aware it’s a buyer’s market. More, the company says, because the land component is taken out of the equation, and resale prices are not as volatile as in the traditional housing market. Dolce Vita has been listed among the top 100 master-planned communities in the U.S. by Where to Retire magazine.
