Award-winning ENERGY STAR Program Includes Clayton Homes

Clayton Homes participated in the Tennessee Valley Authority’s (TVA’s) ENERGY STAR Manufactured Homes pilot program, conceived to encourage more production of energy efficient homes by the manufactured housing industry and to motivate consumers to upgrade to ENERGY STAR qualification. The pilot program was awarded honorable mention by the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy. To earn the ENERGY STAR label a new home must pass a process of inspections, testing, and verification to meet strict requirements set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). As einnews.com tells MHProNews, increased energy efficiency includes features like more effective insulation, tighter air ducts, high performance windows and advanced HVAC systems. Kevin Clayton, CEO of Clayton Homes says, “We’re making strides in our effort to deliver more energy-efficient manufactured homes. One of our core values is to take care of the environment and communities we live in, and we’re dedicated to delivering on that value.”
