“This is not sensible policy, and I think the biggest hope is that it ends up being a lot of rhetoric and no reality,” said Obama-Biden (D) administration Harvard economist Jason Furman in an interview with the left-leaning New York Times about Kamala Harris’ price-control plans. “There’s no upside here, and there is some downside.” Furman was the Obama-Biden (D) Administration National Economic Council chair and said plans like Harris’ are risky. MHProNews notes that Republican President Richard Nixon also tried price controls, and those failed. It is a method that has been used in socialist or communist regimes, and often leads to shortages and black markets on staples. But those points were not raised during the first night of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, where protesters were largely kept at bay at a distance from the convention center, although a breach of a fence by protestors occurred.
Conventions are meant to rally the base of a party and hope to create an air that attracts persuadable voters too. This news-analysis will reveal the challenge for Kamala Harris (D) and Governor Tim Walz (MN-D) is that Biden-Harris and the Democrats have largely controlled the federal government during the past 3.5 years. Inflation and illegal immigration are among the top issues for voters, per surveys. The lack of affordable housing is part of that mix, per surveys. Harris’ ‘good vibes’ campaign appears to aim to keep policy specifics low, while getting an emotional lift by having the first female and ‘person of color’ candidate at the top of the ticket. Former Secretary of State for Obama-Biden, Hillary Clinton (D), said during last night’s convention that she broke the glass ceiling for Harris.
Left-leaning, and centi-billionaire Jeff Bezos owned, The Washington Post columnist Catherine Rampell said of Harris’ plans the following.
“It’s hard to exaggerate how bad this policy is. It is, in all but name, a sweeping set of government-enforced price controls across every industry, not only food. Supply and demand would no longer determine prices or profit levels. Far-off Washington bureaucrats would. The FTC would be able to tell, say, a Kroger in Ohio the acceptable price it can charge for milk.”
While Bezos is known to back Democrats, Amazon and Whole Foods are two of his brands that could suffer added regulatory and other costs under such a policy as Harris has pitched. But here’s the thing: The US economy is not just a few markets. It’s a massive $29 trillion beast. In aggregate, corporate profit taking was not a leading cause of inflation – according to that same San Francisco Fed study. Those price markups in certain sectors weren’t out of the ordinary – and measuring the economy as a whole, greedflation was basically nonexistent.

Wall Street analysts have said some customers are refusing to pay higher prices – so companies like Target, Starbucks and McDonald’s have cut prices and added deals to bring customers back.
Saying that the economic shutdowns globally during the declared Covid-19 pandemic started the ball rolling, they said the following.
Many nations, including the United States, effectively turned their economies off for a short while and pumped trillions of dollars of stimulus into the economy to support businesses and workers.

The Federal Reserve joined those efforts to boost demand across the economy by bringing interest rates down to near-zero levels for two years. That locked in wealth for generations, as Americans snatched up homes with a 30-year mortgage rate of just 2% to 3%. And those who had already bought a home were able to refinance at a similar rate.
This all created the perfect storm for prices to shoot through the roof.
That same analysis said it may be ‘good politics’ but it is poor economic policy.
That means attacks on greedflation and price gouging, though perhaps good politics, may be bad policy. In fact, Harris’ plan to cap certain prices could create more problems than it solves, several economists told CNN.
So, it isn’t just conservative media or pro-MAGA, Republicans, or pro-Trump voices that are criticizing the plans floated by Harris that MHProNews reported on, which included housing plans and giveaways, at this link here. Several sources across the left-right divide are saying that the Harris plan could fuel inflation in housing, and could make other economic matters worse, not better. As was noted above, President Nixon (R) tried the price controls gimmick, and it failed, which is why we don’t have government price controls decades later. Sound economics is not partisan, it is reality.
Relief on the part of Democrats that Joe Biden is no longer at the top of their party’s ticket has led to some euphoria among Democratic loyalists and supportive big-tech and big media outlets. But there may be signs, like a new left-leaning CBS News poll, that suggest that the ‘sugar high’ of Harris campaign is already diminishing somewhat and that Trump is rising again. Talk radio, podcaster and growing conservative media mogul Dan Bongino said it was foolish for Democrats to be thinking about what Harris’ policies are going to be like, because for the past 3.5 years, Biden-Harris have been in charge of the government and the inflation, economic, foreign policy failures, and open-borders ‘disaster’ are precisely what causes most Americans to say that the nation is on the wrong track.
More on such matters and more in Part IV below, following several reports about the first night of the DNC convention. As in all such political events, the praise for Biden and Harris from presenters flowed.
In Part II, are the headline insights credited to IRS whistleblowers that link Biden and his family to a purported volume of evidence that points to an global influence peddling scheme that enriched Joe and several of his family. How this will be handled by pro-left-leaning media and the Harris-Walz campaign will be interesting to watch, because it will be difficult for Harris to deny knowledge of the allegations. Yet she stayed publicly ‘loyal’ to Joe. Indeed, as this video clip from left-leaning Move-On, a pro-Democratic billionaire George Soros funded organization underscores, just last night Harris praised Biden and his leadership. Given the mounting evidence from within the Democratic-led IRS bureaucracy of wrongdoing, what follows may seem dystopian, but it is likely the sort of ignore-the-evidence tactics that will be expected in the last 2-plus months of campaigning.

Biden: America is ‘moving in the right direction’
(The Center Square) – President Joe Biden called for party unification Monday on the opening night of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
The president was emotional as he was recognized by the party and the thousands of delegates in the room with a standing ovation and chants of “Thank you, Joe.”
“With a grateful heart, I stand before you now, on this August night, to report that democracy has prevailed,” he said. “Democracy has delivered. And now democracy must be preserved. Each of us has a part in the American story.
“I made a lot of mistakes in my career, but I gave my best to you. For 50 years, like many of you, I gave my heart and my soul to the nation.”
He called for the party to unite behind Vice President Kamala Harris, who replaced him on the Democratic presidential ticket when he said he would not seek reelection just 29 days earlier.
“America, I love you,” Biden said, with tears in his eyes. “America, let me ask you, are you ready to vote for freedom? Are you ready to vote for democracy and America? Are you ready to elect Kamala Harris and Tim Walz?”
Biden’s speech capped a primetime lineup that included First Lady Jill Biden and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear in the final hour with the president; former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortiez and NBA basketball coach Steve Kerr in the penultimate hour. The first half of the evening included New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and United Auto Workers Union President Shawn Fain.
Speakers were consistent in hailing Biden’s four years in office. Many also talked of tough times for Americans now, seemingly dismissing the administration’s role.
The evening was long, with Jill Biden not taking the stage for her six minutes until 11:12 p.m. EDT and Joe Biden introduced by daughter Ashley at 11:25. A five-minute ovation followed, and the president then went for 48 minutes until 12:18 a.m. on the East Coast.
Biden was warmly received and cheered throughout. His word stumbles were more minimal than earlier in the summer, and his voice strong, at times near shouting. Supporters showed tearful emotion.
While he called Trump a liar and referenced him several times, Biden was not without false claims.
Among them, Biden gave himself and Harris credit for America having the strongest economy in the world. In actuality, it was 1898 when the U.S. credited itself with the “birth of a superpower” economic label. It has been on top since, save for brief instances, such as Japan moving ahead during the Clinton administration. It is the last country to have a brief stay above the U.S.
Biden misled in saying he and Harris helped get schools back open following COVID-19. Many stayed closed in states with Democratic governors, spurred in part by the American Federation of Teachers union and its president, Randi Weingarten.
He falsely said he authored the PACT Act, a law that expanded Veterans Affairs health care and benefits for those impacted by toxic substances. U.S. Rep. Mark Takano, D-Calif., first introduced it June 17, 2021.
And, Biden falsely said Trump wanted to cut Social Security and Medicare. The former president in Asheville, N.C., last week gave a promise to keep them intact as well as the Affordable Care Act.
“The fight continues and there is still more work to do,” said Jaime Harrison, chairman of the Democratic National Convention. “Four years ago, we were a country divided by fear.
“Now we are united. We are united in our pursuit of progress.”
In a night that was themed “For the People,” Democratic union and state leaders spent the night attacking Project 2025, “MAGA minions,” and Trump’s handling of COVID-19. The former president was in office less than a year after the pandemic shuttered most of the world on or about March 12, 2020.
“This is our generation’s defining moment,” Fain said. “We need a defender of the working class in the White House. Someone who is one of us and someone who knows how to fight. And that fighter is the next president of the United States, Kamala Harris.”
Many Democrats seemed optimistic for their chances in November.
“Now we are writing a new chapter of America’s story,” said Clinton. “We kept our eyes on the future. Well, my friends, the future is here.”
Harris even made a surprise appearance.
“We are united by the shared vision for the future of our country,” she said. “And this November, we will come together and declare with one voice as one people, we are moving forward.”
Biden said that America is not losing, that Trump “is the loser.”
“The decisions we make now will determine the face of our nation and the world for decades to come,” he said. “We are in a battle for the very soul of our nation.”
Ignoring polls showing that many Americans are dissatisfied with the state of the nation under his administration, Biden said he stands by his four years.
“Because of you, we’ve had one of the most extraordinary four years of progress ever,” Biden said. “When I say we, I mean Kamala and me.”
Senator Tammy Duckworth shares her thoughts on President Joe Biden at the DNC:
“He’s going to be even more active post-presidency… So yes, we’re going to celebrate his achievements, but I think for me, he’s going to be, you know, like a Jimmy Carter.”
He promised he believes this success will continue under a Harris administration.
“We both know we have more to do, but we are moving in the right direction,” Biden said. “We are improving our quality of life and we are building a better America.”
Biden briefly addressed the pro-Palestine demonstrators gathering to protest the DNC, saying they “have a point.”
He added that he is not angry at Democrats for telling him to step down.
“I love the job, but I love my country more,” he said. “We need to preserve our democracy.”
Biden said that the future of America is in voters’ hands.
“We saved democracy in 2020 and now we must save it again in 2024.”
On Tuesday night, former First Lady Michelle Obama and former President Barack Obama will headline, followed by Walz on Wednesday night and Harris on Thursday night.

Impeachment report lays out President Biden’s alleged offenses

(The Center Square) – President Joe Biden committed impeachable offenses in his role in his family’s alleged overseas business dealings, a newly released report from the U.S. House Ways and Committee alleges.
“As described in this report, the Committees have accumulated evidence demonstrating that President Biden has engaged in impeachable conduct,” the report said.
The 291-page report lays out in detail what have at times been murky allegations against the president.
House Oversight Chair Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., helped spearhead the investigation, uncovering and laying out evidence. He and Republicans on the impeachment committee argue that the Biden family, with the help and knowledge of the president, used the Biden family name around the world to rake in nearly $30 million from overseas entities in Ukraine, China, Romania and elsewhere in secretive influence deals.
“In order to obscure the source of these funds, the Biden family and their associates set up shell companies to conceal these payments from scrutiny,” the report said. “The Biden family used proceeds from these business activities to provide hundreds of thousands of dollars to Joe Biden—including thousands of dollars that are directly traceable to China.”
Biden has brushed off questions about his involvement in a scheme being highlighted in the Republicans’ report. The administration has yet to release a formal response in reaction to the report.
A key question in the investigation has been, even if Hunter Biden and others monetized the “Biden brand,” how much did the president really know or participate?
“Witnesses acknowledged that Hunter Biden involved Vice President Biden in many of his business dealings with Russian, Romanian, Chinese, Kazakhstani, and Ukrainian individuals and companies,” the report said. “Then-Vice President Biden met or spoke with nearly every one of the Biden family’s foreign business associates, including those from Ukraine, China, Russia, and Kazakhstan. As a result, the Biden family has received millions of dollars from these foreign entities.”
The president has repeatedly brushed off these allegations, and so far Republicans have not gotten the needed votes to make impeachment a serious threat.

First and foremost, overwhelming evidence demonstrates that President Biden participated in a conspiracy to monetize his office of public trust to enrich his family. Among other aspects of this conspiracy, the Biden family and their business associates received tens of millions of dollars from foreign interests by leading those interests to believe that such payments would provide them access to and influence with President Biden. As Vice President, President Biden actively participated in this conspiracy by, among other things, attending dinners with his family’s foreign business partners and speaking to them by phone, often when being placed on speakerphone by Hunter Biden. For example, in 2014, Vice President Biden attended a dinner for Hunter Biden with Russian oligarch Yelena Baturina.4 Following the dinner, Baturina wired $3.5 million to Rosemont Seneca Thornton, a firm associated with Hunter Biden. Then, months later, as Hunter Biden and his business associates continued to solicit more money from Baturina, Vice President Biden participated in a phone call with Baturina and Hunter Biden where Vice President Biden told Baturina, “you be good to my boy.” Moreover, President Biden knowingly participated in this conspiracy. Based on the totality of the evidence, it is inconceivable that President Biden did not understand that he was taking part in an effort to enrich his family by abusing his office of public trust.
“The Biden-Harris Administration has lied to the American people time and again to cover up and obstruct the investigation into tax crimes committed by a Biden family business enterprise that capitalized on political power,” Rep. Jason Smith, R-Mo., who chairs the House Ways and Means Committee, said in a statement. “The American people have been shocked to learn the magnitude of the scheme going back to the President’s time as Vice President, when Biden family members were allowed to use Air Force Two as their own private business jet.
“None of this would have come to light had it not been for the two IRS whistleblowers who were tired of watching their investigation into the President’s son become obstructed, delayed, and denied the ability to move forward as the pursuit of truth demanded,” he added.
The whistleblowers in question are Supervisory Special Agent Gary Shapley and Criminal Investigator Joseph Ziegler, two IRS employees with nearly three decades of combined federal experience.
Those whistleblowers came forward and testified before Congress about Hunter Biden’s alleged tax crimes, saying that this case was unlike any other. One whistleblower testified that the Biden administration interfered in the investigation to protect Hunter and prevent a raid at the president’s Delaware home.
Earlier this year, Hunter, who still faces tax charges Biden was found guilty on federal gun charges.
President Biden has said he will not pardon his son.
Whether Biden falling out of favor with his own party in the presidential election will change that trajectory remains to be seen.
“Americans now know Joe Biden was ‘the brand’ the Bidens sold around the world to enrich the Biden family, and Joe Biden knew of, benefitted from, and participated in his family’s influence peddling schemes,” Comer said in a statement. “The entire Biden influence peddling model relied on Joe Biden’s presence—at meetings, on the phone, or at dinners—to demonstrate his family members’ influence over him, and he repeatedly provided it.” ##

3 Themes That Set the Tone for the DNC on Night One
Democrats gathered in Chicago, Illinois on Monday to kick off the first day of the Democratic National Convention with the ostensible theme “For the People.” Despite the theme, the stage was mostly dominated by political and cultural elites when compared to the Republican National Convention last month in Milwaukee. Rather, it was three other themes that set the tone for the week ahead.

With Democrats set to nominate the first female person of color as a major party’s presidential nominee, the convention to put the spotlight on female speakers. First Lady Jill Biden, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Rep. Lauren Underwood of Illinois, and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass were among the female politicians who addressed the crowd gathered in Chicago Monday night.
The Democrats’ decision to put its female leaders front and center on night one suggests Democrats are set to lean in on the widening gender gap in American politics that is particularly pronounced amongst young voters. A February Gallup poll found that 40% of women aged 18-29 identify as liberal, while only 25% of young men do.
While political attitudes are not as segmented between the genders in older generations, exit polling from previous presidential elections show how men and women are increasingly sorting themselves into red and blue. In 2008, the gender gap was seven points; by 2020 it was 12 points.
With Kamala Harris atop the Democratic ticket, the gap is poised to grow even wider. “It is now close to, or certainly in the ballpark of, the biggest gender gap we’ve ever seen,” Paul Maslin, a pollster at FM3, told Politico. A recent CBS News/YouGov poll showed women favored Harris by 12 points, while men favored Trump by nine.
All this helps explain why the Harris campaign has opted for an aesthetic (including its co-option of pop star Charli XCX’s “brat” branding) and communications strategy geared towards young women online. Democrats seem to believe turning out these young, female voters come November, though messaging on abortion and other social issues, is the key to victory.
- Create Chaos on the Right
Democrats seem poised to use the DNC’s domination of the primetime airwaves this week to bait the right into fighting itself. If night one is any indication, Democrats’ strategy to break conservative ranks will be through continued attacks against The Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 to pit the think tank against the Trump campaign.
With a comically large copy of the Project 2025 reader, “Mandate for Leadership,” in hand, Michigan Senate Majority Whip Mallory McMorrow took the stage for a primetime speaking slot on night one.
“This is the Republican blueprint for a second Trump term,” McMorrow proclaimed on the DNC stage despite both the Trump campaign and Heritage Foundation’s insistence that the campaign and Project 2025 are independent of one another. McMorrow went a step further, claiming that Project 2025 plans “to turn Donald Trump into a dictator” by “reissu[ing] Trump’s Schedule F Executive Order to permit discharge of nonperforming employees” and “ending law enforcement activities of independent agencies.”
“That is not how it works in America,” McMorrow later screamed as screens behind her read “Choose Democracy,” seemingly unaware that the proposals reinstitute elected checks on unelected bureaucrats.
The doomsday scenario? “Donald Trump would be able to weaponize the Department of Justice to go after his political opponents,” McMorrow said.
Pot, meet kettle.
Before leaving the stage, McMorrow promised that Democrats would be back tomorrow with another speech on proposals in Project 2025, even though the Harris campaign has previously admitted to misleading voters about Project 2025’s objectives and its relationship to the Trump campaign.
- Out With the Old, In With the new
Monday night also featured ghosts of presidential elections past.
In what felt like a swan song address, former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton took the stage Monday night to proclaim that the glass ceiling is shattering for real this time.
“Tonight, so close to breaking through once and for all, I want to tell you what I see through all those cracks and why it matters for each and every one of us. What do I see? I see freedom,” Clinton told the audience. “On the other side of that glass ceiling is Kamala Harris raising her hand and taking the oath of office as our forty-seventh president of the United States.”
The glass ceiling wasn’t the only Clinton reprise in her DNC speech. Clinton went for the deep cut with the revival of her “it takes a village” mantra, the title of her 1996 book. “We have to fight for Kamala as she will fight for us. Because you know what, it still takes a village to raise a family, heal a country and win a campaign,” Clinton said. The late Bob Dole rolls in his grave.
“The future is here. It’s in our grasp,” Clinton said to conclude her remarks. The bitter pill for Clinton to swallow is if that future comes, she likely won’t play a major part in it. “Fight Song” by Rachel Platten played as she exited stage left.
The Bidens won’t be playing a large role in that future either, at least if the party has its way.
First Lady Jill Biden preceded her husband, still the incumbent president, late Monday night. The first lady breezed past lingering questions that remain about the nature of her husband’s decision to not run for reelection. “When I saw him dig deep into his soul and decide to no longer seek reelection and endorse Kamala Harris,” Jill Biden said, was a moment she “f[e]ll in love with him all over again.”
“Joe knows that our nation’s strength doesn’t come from intimidation or cruelty. It comes from the small acts of kindness that heal deep wounds, from service to the communities that make us who we are, from love of a country that shines with promise and renewal,” the first lady claimed. But “Kamala Harris knows that too.”
Harris, and her running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, are “inspiring a new generation,” Jill Biden concluded.
Speaking for the old generation, President Joe Biden took the stage at almost 10:30 p.m. Chicago time. Biden was teary-eyed as he walked on stage, and remained visibly choked up as he approached the microphone and the crowd chanted “we love Joe!” and “thank you, Joe!”
In the midst of making official the unceremonious passing of the torch to his vice president, Biden was defiant about his record as president. Biden proclaimed his administration took on Big Pharma, beat back inflation with the Inflation Reduction Act, the passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and America’s continued involvement in the war in Ukraine.
Not before long, Biden was scraping the bottom of the barrel. He boasted that his administration has invested in, and built, charging stations from electric vehicles—even though only 7 chargers have been built. The president insisted that now there are fewer border crossings than when Donald Trump left office, but U.S. Customs and Border Protection data shows that in January of 2021 there were 78,414 migrant encounters on the southern border while there were nearly 105,000 in July. Biden also claimed that “when Trump left office, Europe and NATO was in tatters,” despite the largest land war in Europe breaking out under Biden’s watch. Nevertheless, Biden promised it was “not a joke!”
The president had his trademarked stumbles in a stemwinder carried on for nearly an hour, but nothing like the troubles that beset him in the presidential debate that led to his political demise in June.
Nearly an hour in, Biden finally decided to hand Harris the baton as promised. The president said he knew Harris would make a good president “because like many of our best presidents, she was also a vice president.”
“That’s a joke,” Biden added. ##
Part IV – Additional Information with More MHProNews Analysis and Commentary
1) Bongino is hardly alone in saying that there is broadly speaking a choice between Democrats and Republicans. Bongino’s argument is that Republicans may not always be the solution, but Democrats are routinely the source of the problems against which most Americans rail. As the snippets and quotes from left-leaning sources shown in the preface revealed, the challenge for Democrats is how do they run against the problems that they themselves largely created?
2) Harris’ housing plan is examined in detail in the report linked below.
3) MHProNews previously reported that lifelong Democrat who Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a problem for Democrats. That party is in the position of having to ignore a series of problematic facts. While they claim they want to ‘save democracy’ in America from Trump, they have ditched their own candidate, Joe Biden in what has been described by many as an entirely undemocratic way after the Biden-Trump debate.
4) Even several left-leaning media outlets say that Harris is likely to have difficulty addressing how she could have missed Biden’s cognitive decline that is widely attributed to the problems Biden had in his poor debate performance with Trump. The reason Democratic leaders pushed Biden aside is because it was widely thought he would lose to Trump. They would have gleefully kept Joe in office had they believed they could win.
5) Harris should not be under-estimated as a threat to Trump and MAGA Republicans. She has several advantages, that include the de facto support of much of the media, her gender, color, big tech, and much of Wall Street-big tech backing the Democratic machine.
6) Trump is at times critiqued because he wanders from what should be his core massage of how much better life in the U.S. was during his term, save during the COVID19 outbreak, which was hardly his fault. Indeed, the world was more peaceful during the Trump era. War between Israel and Gaza-based Hamas, not to mention other proxy attacks from Hezbollah in Lebanon, a direct attack from Iran at Israel, and the disruption of Red Sea shipping by Houthis are just one regional hot spot. Deadly conflicts are ongoing in several parts of Africa. The conflict between Russia and Ukraine is well known and has cost the U.S. and others hundreds of billions of dollars. The withdrawal from Afghanistan, the threat of war over Taiwan, South Korea, and the Philippines are just some of the simmering issues that could disrupt trade from nations that supply thousands of products that flow into the U.S. Some of those are nations that supply components for manufactured homes, such as China, which even Biden-Harris administration officials have sounded alarms over. Because so many components for our industry come from China and overseas, these are not issues to be ignored.
7) RFK Jr., no fan of Trump, has nevertheless said that the greater threat to personal liberty comes from Biden. That noted, it is difficult to separate Biden and Harris, who at least publicly, since they forged their political alliance, have been on the same page. This tweet (X-post) from CPAC indicates that Kamala Harris has cast more tie-breaking Senate votes than any VP in history. Harris’ vote is thus integral to the inflation creating policies that even former Democratic House Majority Whip and still influential Congressman James Clyburn (SC-D) said was his party’s doing.

The rate of inflation has slowed, but inflation itself is still significantly higher than it was under Trump.
Ironically, Harris admitted as much when she said that bread was 50 percent higher in recent years and meat was nearly (about 40 percent) that much higher.
8) Regulations, boldly cut by Trump, have blossomed under Biden-Harris.
The left-leaning MSN, citing the George Washington University Center for Regulatory Studies, said:
The Biden administration has added a total of $1.2 trillion in costs to the economy in the first several months of 2024 from finalized regulations as the president rushes to protect his agenda ahead of the November election.
The cost of the new regulations is more than double those added in the first three years of Joe Biden’s presidency, which totaled $447.9 billion…
It is curiously silent in non-MHProNews/MHLivingNews (i.e.: other) manufactured housing industry trade media that it was during the Biden-Harris regime that the DOE Energy Rule has become a serious threat to the industry. Yet, MHI’s own attorneys admitted that the DOE rule could cause “irreparable harm” to manufactured housing.
MHARR has pressed the Biden-Harris administration on a range of regulatory issues that they say are “bottlenecks” for manufactured housing.
MHARR also pressed the Trump Administration on those topics too. But then, as more recently, it seems clear that whatever MHI says are their policy priorities, they have at this time no serious interest in making some of those policy priorities reality. They are rather more akin to ‘window dressing,’ talking points, or ‘weasel words.’
9) While the Harris-Walz campaign may have the backing of more billionaires, more of big media, and big tech, the Trump campaign has attracted self-described moderate Democrat Elon Musk’s support. The “conversation” between Trump and Musk garnered over a billion views, making it a global event. Since that conversation, Trump has mentioned he may cut federal financial support for EVs but is considering having Musk head up a government efficiency effort.
10) Despite the appealing sound of 3 million new houses fueled with down payment assistance, the sobering reality is that plan would likely further fuel housing inflation and is not enough to meet the needs. Without dealing with the border/immigration crisis, which erupted under Biden-Harris, the housing crisis can’t be solved with even double the number of housing units that Harris proposes (can’t guarantee, because it requires Congressional action). Reportedly over 12.5 million have jumped the border under Biden Harris, and those are the known numbers of encounters. So-called gotaways could take increase the total of those illegally in the U.S. in the past 3.5 years to some 16 to 20 million. The housing crisis can’t be solved that way. A secure border combined with sizable numbers of deportations may.
11) The DNC convention is being held in Chicago. Nationally syndicated WMAL’s Chris Plante said on 8.20.2024 that the population of Democratically dominated Chicago is lower now than 100 years ago. A quick check with Gemini AI confirmed that claim.
Yes, as of July 2023, Chicago’s population was 2,664,452, which is lower than the 2,701,705 people reported in the 1920 census. This is the first time in over 100 years that Chicago’s population has been this low. The city has seen a steady decline in population over the past nine years, losing a net of 128,034 residents. If the current trends continue, Chicago could lose its title as the third-largest city in the United States to Houston.
The totality of the corrupt conduct uncovered by the Committees is egregious. President Joe Biden conspired to commit influence peddling and grift. In doing so, he abused his office and, by repeatedly lying about his abuse of office, has defrauded the United States to enrich his family. Not one of these transactions would have occurred, but for Joe Biden’s official position in the United States government. This pattern of conduct ensured his family—who provided no legitimate services—lived a lavish lifestyle. The evidence uncovered in the Committees’ impeachment inquiry reflects a family selling the “Biden brand” around the world with President Biden—the “big guy”—swooping in to seal the deal on speaker phones or in private dinners. It shows a concerted effort to conceal President Biden’s involvement in the family’s influence peddling scheme. One witness explained that when it comes to mentioning Vice President Joe
Biden’s involvement, “Say it, forget it. Write it, regret it.”16
