William “Bill” Matchneer, JD, previously the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Manufactured Housing program administrator, will be a featured speaker at the 2015 Louisville Manufactured Housing Show.
Matchneer was also key in writing the soon-to-be-implemented “Appraisal Rule” for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), which goes into effect in mid-2015.
Now retired from federal service, Matchneer is an attorney with the Arant Boult Cummings law firm.
Matchneer formally accepted the invitation to speak to industry professionals extended by the education program coordinator for the Louisville show, L. A. “Tony” Kovach and Dennis Hill, Show Coordinator acting on behalf of the Midwest Manufactured Housing Federation (MMHF).
“What makes Bill Matchneer different than many other federal officials at the CFPB,” said Kovach, “is that he really understands the manufactured housing industry and respects business. My impression of Bill is that he wants to see manufactured housing succeed. Bill wants regulations to be effective, not destructive. So he’ll bring an amazing set of insights that you won’t want to miss as part of the strong educational line up at Louisville.”
