“Attorney General William Barr said Tuesday the Justice Department has not uncovered evidence of widespread voter fraud that would change the outcome of the 2020 presidential election,” said the left-of-center Boston Globe in an email today to MHProNews.
“His comments come despite President Trump’s repeated, baseless claims that the election was stolen, and his refusal to concede his loss to President-elect Joe Biden,” the Boston Globe said, adding that “In an interview with [left-of-center] The Associated Press, Barr said US attorneys and FBI agents have been working to follow up on specific complaints and information they’ve received, but they’ve uncovered no evidence that would change the outcome of the election.”
That statement by Barr would fit statements by some more moderate Republican elected officials, who at times have publicly urged President Donald J. Trump to conceded the election, and move on.
Even Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (KY-R) ads supporting Republican candidates in the Georgia Senate runoff can be construed to imply that President Trump has lost to President Barack Obama-era VP Joe Biden.
Does that mean it is over? Time will tell, but there are several issues that have come into sharper focus today and recently that may shed a different light on the question of is there enough evidence of fraud to warrant judicial, legislative, or other legal processes available to call for a new election in key battleground states, or to order a certification or other outcome than one that gives Democratic nominee Joe Biden and his running mate Senator Kamala Harris (CA-D) the apparent win?
That will be our featured focus this evening.
A useful tee-up to that hot-topic is the new Masthead, linked below.
As one of several possible clues that despite the posturing of victory that this race isn’t over until it is formally certified and a swearing in occurs is the factoid that Senator Harris has not yet resigned her seat.

Where Business, Politics and Investing Can Meet
The caveat not noted in the Boston Globe quote today from AP’s report is found in the following.
“To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have effected a different outcome in the election,” Attorney General William “Bill” Barr said to the left-of-center AP today.
That certainly “To date” qualifier at the start of his statement leaves AG Barr some wiggle room, to shift as needed or desired. For example…
The Trump campaign legal team’s legal leader responded with, “With all due respect to the Attorney General, there hasn’t been any semblance of a Department of Justice investigation. We have gathered ample evidence of illegal voting in at least six states, which they have not examined. We have many witnesses swearing under oath they saw crimes being committed in connection with voter fraud. As far as we know, not a single one has been interviewed by the DOJ. The Justice Department also hasn’t audited any voting machines or used their subpoena powers to determine the truth.” Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani also said,”Nonetheless, we will continue our pursuit of the truth through the judicial system and state legislatures, and continue toward the Constitution’s mandate and ensuring that every legal vote is counted and every illegal vote is not. Again, with the greatest respect to the Attorney General, his opinion appears to be without any knowledge or investigation of the substantial irregularities and evidence of systemic fraud.” That’s per Townhall.
Also per Townhall…

There is no doubt that attorney L. Lin Wood is a pro-Trump backer. But he and Sidney Powell both have a career to consider after the dust settles from these issues. Rephrased, they are not likely to knowingly put their names to something that they don’t believe that they can prove in court.
Sidney Powell @SidneyPowell1 & many others, including myself, have seen overwhelming evidence of the systemic fraud in the voting machine software.

This make NO sense to Patriots. What is going on in D.C.? Same problem as exists in GA? https://t.co/5m82orjURR

Don’t expect President Trump to back off, based on all of the indicators. Nor does it seem that his legal team and legal allies are tossing in the towel.
There is one other interesting wrinkle, to present both sides of the evolving battle in Trump-world. Sean Hannity from Fox News urged President Trump to pre-emptively pardon himself and his entire family before leaving the White House.
Sean Hannity tonight: “I’d tell President Trump to pardon yourself and pardon your family”pic.twitter.com/hMx7bE6WU1
— Robert Costa (@costareports) December 1, 2020
Is that one of the reasons that President Trump said that Fox is becoming almost unwatchable?
In a Topsy-Turvey world where media across the spectrum are often more agenda driven than evidence and objective-reporting motivated, there are too many possibilities to cover with respect to AG Barr’s statement. A few that are more obvious include the following.
- Barr meant exactly what he said, no spin to it. He may think that at this time, there is not sufficient evidence that the FBI or the DOJ has seen.
- Barr may have meant it in some technical sense, but it may have been a head-fake.
- Barr may be signaling the Trump legal team that they better get it in gear.
- But if that is the case, why aren’t federal officials robustly pursuing purported violations of federal civil rights laws?
