The Langley Advance in Langley, British Columbia, Canada, says modular builder Britco has been chosen for the tenth year to provide the prize home at the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) Aug 20 through Sept 5. Unlike many of the disaster-relief and smaller dwellings the company makes, this 3,100 square foot craftsman-style home has two energy efficient fireplaces, a spacious master suite, and a home theater. The home is given away at the end of the event. Langley-based Britco has provided small, modular homes to victims of the Indonesian tsunami in 2006, libraries for First Nations communities, and athletes’ villages for the 2010 Winter Olympics in nearby Vancouver. The Olympic villages later became low-income housing. The show runs from Aug. 20 to Sept. 5, 2011.
