WSIL TV tells MHProNews about three deaths in tornado-struck Brookport, IL. Local churches in Metropolis, IL were gathering food and clothing for victims, while emergency management teams moved into the area. Initial reports are unclear as to specific causes of the deaths involved in the storm. But as is often true of such events, the focus of the reports were on two “mobile home parks” in the storms path.
What a careful view of the video shows is that conventional construction as well as ‘mobile homes’ were hit, damaged or destroyed, along with trees and power lines. “The avoidable loss of life is always tragic. What the mainstream media needs to learn is to identify the distinctions between “mobile” and “manufactured homes” and to focus on if the homes were properly installed. What is visible in this video are manufactured homes that survived the storm, and one factory built home that ‘rolled’ onto its side but fared much better than conventional construction that was demolished.” said MHProNews publisher, L A. “Tony” Kovach.
This video found at this link on Manufactured Home Living News provides facts and insights often missed by mainstream media accounts, including a visual demonstration of the the importance of proper installation for safety. Over 30,000 have viewed this video, about 15,000 in the last 2 months. ##
