There don’t appear to be any shortage of Internet connections in Attawapiskat, or at least not for those in Canada concerned about the conditions there. From the Toronto Sun, MHProNews.com learns that the prime minister’s office and the office of the aboriginal affairs minister were recently flooded with e-mails about the housing crisis at Attawapiskat First Nation. According to the report, most express concern over living conditions at the northern Ontario reserve. “There is no reasonable explanation for the existence of these conditions in our country,” one email read. Attawapiskat declared a state of emergency on Oct. 28, 2011. In December, the Canadian federal government agreed to provide 22 modular homes to address the housing crisis.
