MarketWatch reports that Champion Homes, Inc. has developed a marketing tool that will enable potential buyers to view different options on a manufactured or modular home by clicking on to Champion’s website. DiVE IN (Design Interactive Viewing Experience) offers a “virtual tour” of different floor plans, kitchen layouts, flexible spaces, master bath suites, and exterior appearance. Customers choose the options and then can view the completed package. Using this technology on a hand-held tablet will enable retailers to present custom options to prospective buyers while inside a model home. “We recognize how difficult it is in this business climate for our retailers to support a large number of homes in inventory,” said Jack Lawless, CEO of Champion. Paul Perugi, Champion’s Internet marketing manager said, “When we designed the technology, our primary objective was to allow customers to access it from the retailer’s website. This provides our partners with a powerful selling advantage by differentiating their products and services in the virtual marketplace.” Champion has 26 facilities throughout North America and the United Kingdom, and produces manufactured and modular homes as well as modular buildings for government and commercial use.
