“People wanted this to be done correctly,” said a guest on Newsmax this afternoon, but a sizable portion of Trump supporters broke through police lines today. Right or wrong, there have been questions raised if Antifa agitators, who were said prior to this episode to be embedded in the crowd, were involved in the move toward breaching the Capitol Building and the violence or not. With video cameras and smart phones, time should tell. Newsmax floated that a possible “agent provocateur” might be involved, while condemning the violence and pointing out repeatedly that President Trump has asked his supporters to be peaceful.
One can and arguably should prudentially oppose violence toward innocent people while recognizing and exploring why the violence has occurred. That is the flip side of arguments made much of the summer of 2020 when mainstream media reported on “mostly peaceful protestors” among the violence, destruction, looting, and riots in cities across the country following the tragic George Floyd death.
At least for now, this has shut down the Joint Session of Congress and the debate over certification of the election. It is worth noting that the incidents may have followed the statement by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (KY-R) essentially supporting the selection (as opposed to election?) of Joe Biden.
Is there a silver lining to this dark cloud?
Is there a possible opportunity that has emerged from this historic storming of the U.S. Capitol? Time will tell.
“That whole redress of grievance thing that American Citizens are supposed to have” said Chris Salcedo on Newsmax tonight, and he added that the normal lawful redress of grievance sort of just went out the window. By contrast, Salcedo’s guest former Representative Peter King said that today’s behavior was just not acceptable. Salcedo said that the threat of socialism taking over America scares a lot of people.
More tweets and information will be part of the featured focus for this evening. That follows the quotable quotes, left-right headlines for tonight, and 2 of the 3 market graphics at the close. It is worth mentioning that the markets largely moved up today during these troubling events.

Where Business, Politics and Investing Can Meet
It is a fair question to ask if the goal of some protestors was to slow or stop the process while state legislators and Congressional representatives ponder the events of the day. Update 7:28 PM ET: the video Twitter banned is shown below.

I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 6, 2021
Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!

There is still time to let lawmakers know – peacefully – how you feel. See the report linked below.
MHProNews has said for days that violence was inevitable if 75 million citizens think that elections are rigged. Agree or not, like it or not, this is an understandable reaction, even if illicit. The other side of the coin is that if you take away the normal, lawful means of protest – the courts, the Congress – what is to be expected when perhaps half of the nation believes that an election was stolen from their president?
Stop stoking division.
Stop spreading hatred.
Stop using malicious rhetoric (such as false & reckless charges of “sedition”).
Stop showing contempt for the half of the country that disagrees with you.
Violence is wrong. We can do better. We are one Nation. #EPluribusUnum https://t.co/Kikh4dW46u
— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) January 6, 2021
That noted, what Garrison and others have said is still quite possible. We hope and pray that lawmakers in both major parties will reconsider rubber stamping or just going through the motions of a protest.

Instead, what should occur is a serious look at the evidence of voter fraud – and an appropriate redress of those grievances – instead of trying to quickly sweep it under the rug.
See the first of the reports linked below so you can still message your lawmakers, asking them to #StopTheSteal that arguably led to today’s vexing events.
