Following a story MHProNews published June 4, 2014 regarding the Lincoln (North Dakota) Planning Commission’s denial of a request to develop a 200 site manufactured housing community (MHC), the city council voted 2-0 to to approve rezoning for the project. Dave Patience, a civil engineer who presented the plan on behalf of Van Zeilstra, who has an option to buy the land, says the homes will be set on piers four-feet deep in an area of town known for ground water issues. He says the homes would be newer MH, no more than five years old, according to bismarcktribune.com. City council member Steve Urlacher wanted to delay action because a full council was not there to vote, but ended up voting for the rezone, as MHProNews has learned. Council President Karen Daly, sitting in for Mayor Bob Johnston, reminded those assembled there are several more steps—the preliminary plat, stormwater plan, and final plat before the project gets the go ahead. ##
